Der Jagdstuhl ist einer von Mogensens auffälligsten Entwürfen. Von der Seite betrachtet fällt an dem Stuhl vor allem die scharfe diagonale Neigung der Kante der Vordersitzfläche auf, die nur 30 cm über dem Boden misst. Das Gesamtbild und die logische Konstruktion wurden von mittelalterlichen andalusischen Möbeln Spaniens inspiriert, etwas, auf das Mogensen immer wieder zurückkam, wie man an seiner späteren Entwicklung des Spanischen Stuhls sehen kann.
